SERMON TITLE:
Should be captivating and appropriate to sermon’s
content.
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE:
Scripture passages on which sermon is built.
THEME:
Unifying subject of the sermon, clearly
identifiable as integral to the numbered component
in the brochure plan being addresses. (See Amy
Brochure “Becoming a Christ-Centered,
Disciple-Making Church”.) Theme not to exceed 100
words.
PURPOSE:
What the sermon is designed to accomplish.
Purpose not to exceed 100 words.
INTRODUCTION:
The introduction should capture the attention
of the audience and lead smoothly into the main
body of the sermon. Between 100 and 300 words.
OUTLINE:
Include three main points, each of which
relates directly to the sermon’s theme. Each point
should build on the preceding point and move the
sermon along to a logical conclusion.
Each main point should have at least two
sub-points that develop the main point.
Include a brief summary (between 50-100 words)
after each main point.
Include a scripture reference with each main point
and sub-point.
CONCLUSION:
Between 100 and 200 words. Draw the audience to a
decision in harmony with the sermon’s purpose.
